Use a manual impact driver on a damaged screw
Remove a damaged screw with a manual impact driver when a screwdriver or cordless drill won’t grip.

What you need
- Manual impact driver with bit set
How to do it
- Fit a matching bit, for example Phillips, onto the screw head.
- Position the impact driver and turn the screw out.
Variations
- If that doesn’t help, the only option left is drilling the screw out.
