What you need
- New strike plate (matching lock and frame)
- Timber block
- Screws
- Wood filler for minor damage
How to do it
- Check the strike plate for bending or cracks and replace it if it is badly bent or broken.
- Repair minor damage to the frame with wood filler.
- For heavier damage, fit a timber block around the strike plate.
- Fix the new strike plate and test that the door works properly.
