Remove a fingerprint rust mark from an iron plane
Remove a rusty fingerprint from an iron plane by planing a piece of wood or using a little steel wool.

What you need
- Scrap wood
- Steel wool
- Silbergleit (a tool care product)
How to do it
- Plane a piece of wood, taking off about 1 cm.
- If the mark stays, remove the blade and carefully clean the spot with steel wool along the planing direction.
- Rub the plane with Silbergleit, a tool care product, and put it in the cabinet.
