Use an analogue watch and the sun to roughly find south.

- analogue watch

How to do it
- Check the time. If daylight saving time is in effect, use the 1 o'clock position as your reference.
- Point the hour hand at the sun.
- The midpoint between the reference mark (12 or 1) and the hour hand shows south.
