Drill from both sides until the center point breaks through
Drill from both sides once the centre point breaks through for a clean hole without tear-out.

What you need
- Wood twist bit with centre point
How to do it
- Drill until the centre point is just visible on the back. Only a tiny hole appears.
- Remove the bit, flip the workpiece and set the centre point into the small hole.
- Finish drilling the rest from the back.
