Cut block ice from the middle
Cut block ice more cleanly by tempering it and sawing from the middle.

What you need
- Block of ice
- Ice pick
- Knife
- Cutting board
How to do it
- Temper the block of ice before cutting.
- Hold the block with the ice pick and gently saw a line across the middle with the knife.
- Cut from the middle outwards for cleaner cuts.
Variations
- With a rectangular block, saw across the width; with a square block, saw across the middle.
