Difficulty
◆ easy

What you need

  • Chimney starter
  • Charcoal
  • One or two sheets of newspaper

How to do it

  1. Loosely crumple one or two sheets of newspaper and place them under the chimney starter.
  2. Light the paper in several places.

Variations

  • Some people consider newspaper unsuitable because the ash swirls up and lands on the food.
  • With lighter cubes: light three cubes on the charcoal grate and set the chimney starter on top, instead of putting newspaper underneath.
