PetsTried-and-true tip
Cardboard food puzzle: toilet roll tubes in a lid or a small box with holes
Build a cardboard food puzzle that makes your cat reach in to fish out its dry food.
- Time
- ⏱ 20 min
- Difficulty
- ◆ medium
What you need
- 3–4 toilet roll tubes
- Shoebox with lid or drinks carton
- Pencil
- Sharp knife
- Dry food or treats
- For the food box version instead: small box or plastic container, knife, dry food
How to do it
- Use the pencil to trace the tube ends on the lid, one outline per tube.
- Cut out the holes along the lines with the knife.
- Push the tubes in.
- Put the food inside.
Variations
- Food box: cut holes in the side of a small box or plastic container, put dry food inside and give it to your cat to play with. This is especially appealing for food-motivated cats.
- Build hiding spots so the food does not fall out without some effort.
