Scatter treats for sniffing: on a towel or on grass
Scatter treats on a towel or in the grass and let your dog sniff them out.
- Time
- ⏱ 5–10 min
- Difficulty
- ◆ easy
What you need
- Old towel or blanket
- Treats or dry food
- For the grass version: a patch of grass
How to do it
- Lay a towel on the floor.
- Scatter a few treats or some food over it.
- Let your dog sniff them out.
- Gradually scatter more treats.
Variations
- Harder: roll or fold up the towel.
- Grass version: scatter a small handful of treats on a clean patch of ground and let your dog sniff them out. If that goes well, move the search to a patch of grass and increase the difficulty over time.
- With several dogs, play with one dog at a time.
