Propagate tomatoes from side shoots in a glass of water
Grow new tomato plants from side shoots rooted in a glass of water.

What you need
- Glass of water
- Fingertips or clean scissors
- Soil for planting
How to do it
- Choose healthy side shoots 15 to 25 cm long.
- Pinch them off with your fingertips and remove the lower leaves.
- Stand them in water for a few days until roots appear.
- Plant them as deep as you can in a bed or pot.
Variations
- This is not recommended for beefsteak tomatoes or tall-growing varieties.
