Mix fine seeds with sand for even sowing
Mix fine seeds with dry sand to spread them more evenly when sowing.

What you need
- Dry, fine sand (not play sand)
- Seeds
- Salt shaker or spoon
How to do it
- Mix the seeds with twice the amount of dry, fine sand.
- Scatter the mix evenly along the seed drill; a salt shaker helps.
- Keep rows 20 cm apart.
- For carrots, about 0.5 g of seed per square metre is enough.
Variations
- Sugar can be used instead of sand as the mixing agent.
