Put the phone in another room
Put your phone in another room while studying to keep more of your concentration free.

- Difficulty
- ◆ easy
How to do it
- Put your phone in another room before you start studying.
- Do your study session without it.
Why it works
Not engaging with your phone costs mental capacity: forcing yourself not to think about something uses up part of your limited cognitive resources.
Variations
- In the study, a phone in a pocket or bag did slightly worse than one in another room, but better than one on the desk.
