Hang up on a suspected bank call and call back yourself
If a call claims to be from your bank, hang up and call back using a number you looked up yourself.

- ⏱ 1 min

- ◆ easy
How to do it
- End the call if you are asked for data or payments. Never give out sensitive data over the phone.
- Call your bank on a number you looked up yourself, not the one displayed.
- If the caller claims to be from BaFin (Germany's financial regulator), just hang up.
Variations
- With “caller ID spoofing”, a genuine-looking number is displayed even though the call is fake.
