Check claw length: paper test and floor-clicking test
The paper test and the floor-clicking test show in a minute whether your dog's claws are too long.

What you need
- sheet of paper (paper test only)
How to do it
- Let your dog stand on a level floor.
- Slide a sheet of paper under one claw.
- If no sheet fits underneath, trim the claws.
Variations
- Clicking test: let your dog walk across tiles or parquet and listen for loud clicking. If you hear it, trim the claws. This test complements the paper test.
