What you need

  • Raw potato
  • Cling film or paper
  • Dish

How to do it

  1. Cut a raw potato in half.
  2. Score the cut surface lightly.
  3. Place the potato cut side down on cling film or paper.
  4. Put it near where you've seen silverfish, for example in the bathroom.
  5. The next morning, throw away the potato together with the insects.

Variations

  • Honey paper: spread a little honey on a sheet of paper and lay it on the floor where silverfish are most active. The sweet smell attracts them and they stick to it.
  • Sugar on sticky tape works the same way and also goes on the floor.
