Rough propane level check with warm water

Use warm water and your hand to get a rough idea of how much liquid gas is left in a cylinder.

What you need

  • Warm (not boiling) water
  • Your hand

How to do it

  1. Slowly pour warm water over the outside of the cylinder.
  2. After about 30 seconds, run your hand over the cylinder.
  3. The colder area shows where gas is still left.
