Tell similar keys apart with a nail polish dot
Paint each key head in its own nail polish colour so you can tell keys apart at a glance.

What you need
- Nail polish in different colours
- Masking or sticky tape
- Cardboard as a work surface
How to do it
- Tape over the shaft of the key so the blade doesn’t get painted.
- Pick a different colour for each key and paint the head.
- Let the polish dry for a few minutes.
Variations
- Coloured key rings are a cheap alternative.
