How to do it
- Turn the name into a concrete image or word. The German name Wolfgang, for example, becomes a wolf sitting in a “Gang” (German for corridor).
- Link the image to the person and picture it vividly.
- For names with no meaning or from foreign languages, work with sounds or syllables. Özdem splits into “Öz” and “dem” and becomes Ötzi (the glacier mummy) and a demonstration.
Variations
- Foreign word or vocabulary: say the unfamiliar word out loud and ask yourself what it reminds you of. Link it to a familiar word that sounds similar and build an image from it. Combine both words in a little scene.
