About the Game
Schiffe Versenken is the timeless hidden-fleet naval combat strategy game. Both players secretly position their fleet of ships on a 10 × 10 coordinate grid, then take turns firing shots at the opponent's grid. A hit reveals part of a ship — a sunk ship is fully exposed. The first player to sink the entire enemy fleet wins.
Originally a pen-and-paper game from the early 20th century, naval grid combat has become one of the most widely recognised strategy game formats in the world. The browser version captures the full tactical tension — placement strategy, deduction, and a little psychological warfare — now coming to GameZone as a free online game, no download or signup required.

Game Mechanics
In the placement phase each player arranges their fleet on their own hidden grid — ships may be placed horizontally or vertically but may not overlap or touch. In the combat phase players alternate calling coordinate shots (e.g. B5). A hit is marked; hitting every cell of a ship sinks it and reveals the entire vessel on the opponent's tracking grid.
Efficient targeting is the key skill: random shots quickly cover the board, but experienced players use systematic search patterns to find ships, then focus fire to sink them. The player who destroys the entire enemy fleet first wins the match.
