MINE HUNT

Logic Puzzle · Deduction · Grid

About the Game

Mine Hunt is a hidden-mine deduction puzzle played on a grid of covered cells. Click to reveal a cell — if it is safe, it shows a number indicating how many hidden dangers lie in the adjacent cells. Use those numbers to reason out exactly where each hazard is hiding, flag them all, and clear the rest of the board without ever triggering one.

Originally developed in the early days of personal computing, the genre has remained one of the purest tests of logical deduction in gaming. The browser version brings the same methodical, satisfying challenge — no luck required on non-first-move setups — now coming to GameZone as a free online game with no download or account needed.

Game Mechanics

Hidden dangers are placed randomly across the grid before the game begins. Each safe cell, once revealed, shows a digit from 1 to 8 — the count of adjacent cells (including diagonals) that contain a hidden hazard. Empty cells with a count of zero auto-reveal their entire connected region, giving you a safe starting area to work from.

Right-click (or long-press on mobile) places a flag on a suspected cell to avoid accidentally revealing it. The puzzle is solved when every safe cell has been revealed. Hit a hidden danger and the round ends — but the logic is always there: every board is solvable by pure deduction from the numbers given.
