BOX MOVER

Push Puzzle · Logic · Grid

About the Game

Box Mover is a grid-based push puzzle where you control a worker navigating a maze of walls and crates. Your task: push every crate onto its designated target marker. You can only push a crate — never pull it — and a crate cannot be pushed if a wall or another crate is directly behind it. One wrong move can make a level unsolvable, forcing a restart.

Originally designed in Japan in the early 1980s under the concept of a warehouse keeper rearranging stock, the push-puzzle genre is widely regarded as one of the most intellectually demanding classic game formats. Each level is a finely crafted logic problem — now coming to GameZone as a free browser game, no download or signup needed.

Game Mechanics

The worker moves in four directions: up, down, left, right. When the worker steps into a cell occupied by a crate, the crate is pushed one cell in the same direction. If a wall or a second crate occupies the cell behind the target crate, the push is blocked and the worker cannot move. Every crate must land exactly on a target marker for the level to be complete.

The puzzle challenge comes from planning ahead: crates pushed into corners or against walls become permanently stuck. The fewer total moves and pushes used to solve a level, the higher the efficiency rating. Advanced levels can require dozens of carefully sequenced moves to reach the solution.
